About Pintail Candles

Celebrating 25 years of Candle Making

James and Fiona grew up surrounded by amazing Cumbrian scenery and wildlife which has not only inspired the candles they make but also their company name.  Pintail Candles are made in the little fishing village of Flookburgh on Morecambe Bay. The Bay is an important home to a wide variety of wildfowl and as a keen birdwatcher, James named the business after the beautiful Pintail duck which nests in the surrounding wetlands and marshes. With their gorgeous colouring and elegance, the Pintail duck is the epitome of Pintail Candles.

James first started Pintail Candles over 25 years ago when the number of boutique candle makers could be counted on one hand. As a true creative pioneer, he was one of the first in the UK to make candle tins, a product which he has been associated with ever since.

Signature candles include the iconic Paint Pot candles in 40 fabulous fragrances and the large Triple Wick candles in striking seasonal colours.  Complementary ranges include glass candles, wax melts and reed diffusers in contemporary fragrances and styling.

They are still leading the way as one of the first to introduce cocktail fragranced candle tins with their fun Happy Hour range. While more recently they have created a new gifting concept with their sparkly Occasions Candles and matching Greetings Card which come with gold foil highlights for extra glitz and glamour.

Pintail Candles have become one of the UK’s best loved candle makers. They are known for their personal customer service and have an excellent reputation for creating luxury fine fragranced candles, hand poured in the UK and at an accessible price for all.
